Homeless In Bedford

Are you at risk of becoming homeless or already homeless?

For adults, if you are at risk of becoming homeless or already without accommodation in Bedford Borough, the first point of contact should be with Bedford Borough Council’s Housing Options service. Examples of being homeless include:
  • you are asked to leave by friends or family within 56 days (8 weeks)
  • there is a breakdown in the relationship with your landlord or the person you are living with
  • you are being evicted, for example, you have been served a Section 21 eviction notice
  • you are experiencing domestic violence in your home
  • there is any other reason that puts you at risk of homelessness
The best way to do this is by phone or via the form on their website, but if you don’t have access to a phone or internet you can visit them in person to arrange a meeting with the housing team.

Are you worried about someone you have seen sleeping on the street?

Streetlink App and website
If you have seen someone sleeping rough on the street and are concerned about their welfare you can simply report it via Streetlink, which is available in both a mobile app form as well as a website.
The app will then send an automatic alert to the local Bedford outreach team who will go out to search for the person reported.
